Airedale have invested heavily in diagnostic equipment to help give rapid, accurate diagnosis of problems your pet may have and provide top quality veterinary care.
New Digital X-Ray System We have an X-ray machine with a brand new digital X-ray system. This allows for rapid and good quality diagnostic pictures.
Sophisticated Ultra Sound Scanner Although X-rays are good at looking for structures such as bones, ultra sound is better to look at softer tissues, (i.e. liver, heart, tummy, etc) and may be used in conjunction with X-rays. Our sophisticated Ultra Sound Scanner has Doppler functionality which helps when inspecting the heart.
Endoscopy Machine Endoscopes allow us to look inside the body, i.e. down the trachea (wind pipe) and into the stomach. We can also take samples and remove obstructions without the need for surgery.
ECG ECG is used to measure the electrical activity of the heart and investigate heart problems and other problems.
Lab Facilities We have invested heavily in sophisticated laboratory equipment. This allows for samples to be analysed within minutes when needed. The Biochemistry and Haematology Analyser is computer assisted and can be used on blood from many species of animal.
This allows us to run blood tests on animals on the day they come in for operations for extra safety. We also have a courier who collects samples, five days a week to take to an International Lab if more exhaustive testing is needed. More often than not, results come back the same day by email.
Brand New Operating Theatre We have brand new pre-op area and separate operating rooms, equipped with the latest equipment and technology. This enables us to conduct all types of operations safely and promptly.
Dental Facilities The commonest disease suffered by dogs and cats is dental disease and causes more pain and suffering than any other single disease. We have ultrasonic descalers, polishers and drills, as well as a range of equipment for rabbits and other small pets. This equipment enables us to provide special care for rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters and other small animals. X-rays may be needed to look at the teeth roots.
Kennel & Cattery Wards We have separate kennels for dogs and cats. Here severely ill or hospitalised animals can enjoy 24hr supervision. These rooms also provide the perfect stress free environment to help your pet recover from operations. Animal kept here will also benefit from better antisepsis in the operating room.
Airedale Vets can arrange home visits if it is more convenient for you. This can be just the vet, a nurse or both depending on the severity of your pet's illness and your requirements. Please bear in mind that home visits include an additional fee to take into account the cost of travel.
